About this event
Tech Tactics East 2025
Tech Tactics is a day dedicated to Porsche technical information. This event is for all Porsche enthusiasts, from the casual information gatherer to the everyday Porsche mechanic. Get the latest news directly from the source. Topics range from balancing carburetors to understanding how the new hybrid systems work.
Tech Tactics is a one-day event that allows entrants to choose, at registration, if they want to attend on Saturday or Sunday. Topics and speakers are the same on both days.
This year, we have Steward McLaughlin from Porsche Cars North America to speak about the Manthey GT3 kit now available in North America. Manthey is partially owned by Porsche and is well known for setting records at the Nurburgring. Michelin is sending Ed Gliss, who will update us on the latest with Michelin street tires. Rolf Kittlitz is back with two presentations. The first will be about the unique features of Porsches that many owners are unaware of, and the second presentation will be on the special tools (and what they do) that all Porsche dealers must have. Lake Speed Jr. will explain when and not to use oil additives in our Porsches. John Paterek is back with a presentation on a 356 his shop discovered in a barn and restored. Brian Gay will explain what you need to do to your Porsche if you're going to do a Drivers Education Track event with it. A representative from Porsche Classic in Atlanta will be on hand to present a special topic on Classic restoration and parts.
Tech Tactics East is limited to 125 entrants each day of the event. The day consists of lectures by PCNA Field Specialists, PAG Project Managers, members of the PCA Technical Committee, and representatives from other companies such as Michelin, LN Engineering, and Griots Garage.
Back again: Tech Tactics Die-cast Model Concours! This is a People's Choice event, with the winner receiving a special prize! Dust off your favorite die-cast model (any scale), polish the wheels and bring it to the event for display. No additional registration is needed to enter the Die-cast Model Concours as it is included in your general registration. Please, only one model per entrant.
Tech Tactics History
The event was born in 1980 in the heart of Zone One at the Harley Hotel north of Hartford, CT. It quickly outgrew the facility and moved to the Springfield Sheraton, where it resided for over twenty years. By the 1990's it was the premier technical weekend for PCA with some renowned speakers, such as Norbert Singer, Phil Hill, Derek Bell, and Brian Redman.
In 2007, attendance was dwindling, and a new venue was in order. The event was moved to the Farnbacher-Loles facility in Danbury, CT. The move regenerated interest in the event, with over 250 attendees. With the demise of the F-L facility, we have moved again and have changed direction slightly in terms of the format.
In 2011, Tech Tactics became a PCA National Event hosted at the PCNA Training facility in Easton, PA. This facility has been the perfect home for this "hands-on " event. This facility is used to train Porsche technicians on the intricacies of new Porsches while at the same time providing valuable training on the Porsches of old. It is equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms with lifts and drivetrain assemblies, which will be available for our event.
