CAYENNE, MACAN and DAKAR OWNERS
“Alea iacta est” Julius Caesar
For those of you who went to Stanford, these words were uttered by Caesar as he crossed the Rubicon
Well, we are not going to Italy or even doing the infamous Rubicon Trail, BUT your fearless leader, President Shubitowski and I did run Hi Mountain Road from Lopez Lake to Pozo and it IS open!!!
Open is a relative term I guess, but passable in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. A 911 Dakar is absolutely not recommended as the ground clearance needs to be higher. We have NO idea why people like doing this serious off-road stuff, but YOU asked for it and we delivered!
Saturday, November 23, 2024
I am thinking meet up for those of us in SLO town at Porsche San Luis Obispo about 9 am and head to Biddle Park in Arroyo Grande to join anyone from South County and/or Santa Barbara county by 9:45am.
Hi Mountain Road, initially paved, turns into dirt about 10 ½ miles in; it is relatively rugged so be prepared.
THIS IS A RUGGED OFFROAD DRIVE. NEITHER CCCR, PCA, NOR EITHER JOE ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE OR YOURSELF! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.
There are no facilities in Pozo as the famous Pozo Saloon is still closed, so we will picnic, I guarantee if you pack a martini it will be shaken, not stirred.
We will proceed if at least 6 folks/vehicles sign up on MSR. This is a FREE event, please signup for head count.
RAIN ANYTIME BEFORE EVENT CANCELS!!! Hi Mountain Road traverses multiple stream beds and washes, and will be impassable if any rain has fallen.
